SOS Children's Villages Kenya

SOS Children‘s Villages Kenya is a place that children who have been separated from their families of origin can call home. Through our Children's Villages in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Eldoret and Meru these children access their rights including shelter, alternative family care, education and health. We also prevent child-family separation in these locations by strengthening family and community capacity in the areas of child protection, economic empowerment, positive parenting and water & sanitation.

We recognise children’s potential, guiding and accompanying them on their path to
becoming independent and contributing members of their society.

We work to ensure that children can experience a reliable relationship with a caregiver
based on love, respect and security.

FAMILY:

Every child grows up in a supportive family.

We support families to stay together. If children cannot grow up with their family of
origin, we support them to form lifelong bonds in an alternative family environment
while ensuring that siblings stay together.

COMMUNITY:

Every child is part of a safe and supportive community

We assist families to connect across their community, share experiences, support
one another and work together in order to create a positive environment for children
and young people to develop.
