Our Strategic Plan (2021-2025) is titled “Delivering Our Promise” and it intentionally and firmly places children and young people at the center of everything we are committed to do. Its theory of change is premised on our belief that if we empower families, strengthen communities and government childcare and protection systems, then children and young people will experience the love, security, identity and culture they need to realize their full potential. From our more than four decades experience providing targeted childcare programmes in Kenya, we understand that children growing up in stable and caring families in supportive communities tend to develop better basic life skills such as communication, cooperation, problem-solving, social networking and personal goals-setting. These children and young people demonstrate self-confidence, determination and resilience and ultimately tend to enjoy healthy relationships, are meaningfully engaged and transform their communities for the better.
“Delivering Our Promise” reaffirms our commitment to ensuring no child is left behind, no child is invisible, every child grows up in a loving home and no matter their circumstances, every child is supported to succeed in their adult life. Our five key priority areas for the period are Strengthening Child Care & Protection Programs & Systems; Enhancing Funding for Growth; Streamlining Organizational Development and Sustainability; strengthening Partnership Growth and Development; and Advocacy.
